BREAKING: Russell Brand Files for Divorce From Katy Perry
Just two days ago, we reported to you the rumors that Russell Brand and Katy Perry were having marriage problems. Well now, it’s official: the two are getting a divorce.
According to TMZ, it was Russell who filed for the divorce in Los Angeles, cited “irreconcilable differences”. He said in a statement to the Associated Press today,
“Sadly, Katy and I are ending our marriage. I’ll always adore her and I know we’ll remain friends.”
Russell and Katy married in October 2010. It was only last month, when Brand was a guest on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” that he said the two were doing great, despite any rumors floating around on the internet:
“There are always rumors, aren’t there? In the end you have to just not engage with Internet technology, which is difficult because [of] a lot of the nude women websites I quite enjoy…But they’ve had to go. I’ve treated the whole Internet now like it’s a wicked little liar.”
The two spent the Christmas weekend apart…Brand was in London, while Katy was on the beach in California.
