Comic Patton Oswalt is being heralded as a breakout in the new film “Young Adult,” where he co-stars with the beautiful Charlize Theron. So why is he so traumatized?
Because of their love scene.
Theron plays a woman who returns to her hometown to steal back her ex-boyfriend, who is now married. But along the way, things get complicated (as movies so often do) and she ends up shacking up with Oswalt’s character.
It would have been many a man’s dream – but for Oswalt, it wasn’t easy.
According to the Washington Post, Oswalt says of the experience:
“Why do I have to be in my underwear next to the most physically perfect person on the planet? Why couldn’t I have been next to John Goodman or Michael Moore in their underwear? … It was a dream that turned into a nightmare.”
Oswalt plays a nerdy former classmate. As hard as that must of been, I can’t imagine he’s getting much pity.
