VIDEO: Sacha Baron Cohen Makes An Ash Of Himself On The Oscar Red Carpet.
A stupid Oscar stunt has left Ryan Seacrest looking for a fresh tux, and Sacha Baron Cohen looking for the door. (Scroll down for the video.)
Dressed as ‘The Dictator,’ a character from his upcoming film, Baron Cohen dumped a bag of ‘ashes’ he said were those of deceased North Korean leader Kim Jong Il onto E! host Ryan Seacrest.  Nice, real nice.
Baron Cohen was then escorted off the red carpet, as an understandably irritated Seacrest said “Part of me thought he would be up to something.”
Much buzz came of the reports earlier this week that Baron Cohen planned to come to the ceremony as his “Dictator” character to promote his upcoming film. First it was thought that his tickets had been pulled, then an Academy spokesperson said that Baron Cohen was welcome to walk the red carpet as himself. Looks like both his character and Baron Cohen himself have burned a bridge with the Motion Picture Academy.
As for me, I think it just makes Baron Cohen look like a jerk. I don’t think the silly stunt will be worth it in the end.
