REPORT: Britney Spears To Judge X-Factor For 10 Million!

Simon Cowell has reportedly offered Britney Spears $10 million dollars (!) to become a judge on the second season of The X Factor. Memo to Britney: DO THIS!!

After the show received lackluster ratings for season one, producers did a major housecleaning, firing judges Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and host Steve Jones.

Everyone from Beyonce to Janet Jackson to Mariah Carey has come up as a potential judge since. Now it seems Britney Spears could be the judge du jour.

If the report is accurate, Spears would be one of the top paid reality competition judges, alongside Christina Aguilera and Jennifer Lopez, who make (or are expected to make) a reported 10 mil and 12 mil respectively for The Voice and American Idol.

Just last week, Simon Cowell said in a conference call that Spears resonated with him. “I’m fascinated by Britney… The fact that she’s one of the most talked about — not just pop stars, but people — in the world today means that you’ve got this star power. She’s still hot, she’s still having hit records, and she’s still controversial. There’s a reason for that.”

Spears has no shortage of music sales to back up her credibility. But in recent years, the public perception of her has needed some polishing. This may very well be the perfect way to transform the public’s image of her into a polished woman who has recovered from years of scandal, emerging with a newfound maturity. Helping and advising aspiring artists can only help.
