NBC’s “The Munsters” reboot is moving forward, and today, we bring you the newest piece of casting news.

NBC has just announced that Jerry O’Connell has signed on to play the one and only Herman Munster in “1313 Mockingbird Lane”

O’Connell joins Eddie Izzard and Mason Cook, who will play Grandpa Munster and Eddie, respectively.

The reboot, which has “Pushing Daisies” producer, Bryan Fuller, behind it, as well as Bryan Singer (X-MEN, THE USUAL SUSPECTS) set to direct the pilot, is said to be an edgier and darker take on our favorite monster-filled family.

So while we all may be wondering how good the show could possibly be, it is safe to say that there is definitely a lot of power behind it already…
