Charlie Sheen’s “Anger Management” Sees A Ratings Drop. Time To Panic?
The premiere week of Charlie Sheen’s new FX comedy “Anger Management,” had newsworthy numbers. But week two is getting headlines for less exciting reasons. Still, FX should shed no tears.
During its two-episode premiere on June 28, the show broke cable records for a scripted comedy, taking in 5.5 million viewers. But any TV executive will tell you, week one can be largely curiosity… the real test is what happens next. Now we know… week two saw a 38 percent drop, bringing in 3.4 million.
Should FX be nervous? Not just yet – Management was still the second-highest-ranked cable show of the night, coming in second behind a new episode of the History channel’s “Swamp People,” which drew 4.3 million viewers. (That show is a reality program about alligator hunters.)
