Miley Cyrus Becomes The Target of 911 Prank, Police Arrive At Her House With Guns Drawn
Miley Cyrus may have had police rush to her house last night with guns drawn, but it wasn’t the tween singer who called them!
TMZ is reporting that police received a call around 6:50 p.m. PT that someone had possibly broken into Cyrus’ home and there might have been shots fired. LAPD officers rushed to the singer’s home, and instead of any danger or intruder, found absolutely nothing.
After investigating, law enforcement officials reported that Cyrus was a victim of “swatting,” which is when a “911 abuser” attempts to trick law enforcement to dispatch units by calling in a serious crime.
Police are now investigating the matter to determine who placed the call. The culprit can not only be charged with a crime and arrested in connection with the “swat,” but if someone was hurt or killed in the process, those charges could become more serious.
Cyrus has yet to address the issue as of this posting.
