Guillermo Del Toro is coming to HBO!

The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that HBO has picked up the legendary director’s fifties crime drama “Nutshell Studies of Unexplained Deaths.” The book, written by Corinne May Botz, revolves around Francis Glessner Lee and how she revolutionized forensics in the 30’s, 40’s, and 50’s when she created eighteen perfectly reconstructed miniature crime scenes she used to teach investigators how to assess and gather evidence.

The story is expected to be Hitchcockian in nature and brutally violent, with novelist and “Southland” writer Sara Gran attached to write and Botz attached as a consultant.

Del Toro has a lot going on in recent weeks, including developing Marvel’s new “Incredible Hulk” television series, and working on the post production for his monsters vs robots epic PACIFIC RIM.
