TRANFORMERS 4 Will Feature A Brand New Cast Of Humans And Robots, All Because of Branding
It’s moves like this one that gives movies a bad name…
The new temporary logo for the upcoming TRANSFORMERS 4 was revealed earlier this week by Brian Goldner, President and Chief Executive Officer of Hasbro. This comes after previous news that the new film will focus on a completely different set of humans and robots than the original trilogy.
So after seeing all these changes, one has to ask, why completely steer clear of your established base? The answer: marketing and branding.
In a new interview, Goldner confirmed that it was believed by Hasbro that, since the first three movies shared the same Autobot/Decepticon lineup, toy purchasing had already peaked for the series. And because of that, ‘Transformers 4’ will have a new cast of [robot] characters, and it will be a story revolving around these new characters”.
So forget about story or making a good movie…it’s all about making a few extra bucks for toy sales with new characters…
