Justin Timberlake’s New Single, “Suit and Tie” Already Breaking Records
You still may not be sure what to feel about Justin Timberlake’s first track in six years, “Suit and Tie”, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t already breaking records and blowing every other single on earth out of the water.
According to Billboard, “Suit and Tie,” is already on track to sell between 330,000 and 350,000 downloads by the end of the reporting week, easily destroying Timberlake’s previous best sales week for a digital song set back in 2006 with 250,000 downloads of “SexyBack”. (Keep in mind, digital downloads were a very different monster so many years ago…)
But if that’s not enough for you, the single has already topped the iTunes singles chart in the U.S. and England, and will likely become one of only seven songs in the past year to pass that 300,000 mark.
While the number might not equal Taylor Swift’s 2012 first week sales record of 623,000, or Justin Bieber’s 512,000 downloads for “Boyfriend”, that ain’t a bad number for a surprise release that no one even knew existed until less than a week ago…
Timberlake’s third album, “The 20/20 Experience”, still has no release date.
