CELEB BUZZ: Barbra Streisand’s Canine Clones!

George Carlin once said “every pet is a tiny tragedy waiting to happen.” True…unless perhaps you are Barbra Streisand. The singing icon known for her long career and even longer pockets, shed some light on her latest pet rearing endeavor in this weeks Variety. Back in 2017, Streisand’s beloved Coton de Tulear, Samantha, passed away. Before the pet’s death, Streisand took DNA samples of the dog and had her cloned, which is apparently a thing you can do when you are THE Funny Girl. The cloning resulted in two dogs, Miss Violet and Miss Scarlett, who are obviously physically identical to Samantha, but according to Streisand, do not have the same personalities. Keeping it in the family, Streisand has a third dog, Miss Fanny, who is actually a distant cousin to the original Samantha. With all of this cloning talk, you know there is a hamster in a shoebox in some suburban backyard just hoping for a second chance at life. Take a look at Babs and her pooches below, and check out this weeks Variety!
