Make no mistake, Farrah Fawcett is the very definition of Pop Culture Icon. Her popularity went viral before there was an internet to explode upon, an email to forward, or a webpage to click. Now the iconic swimsuit that propelled her into the sex symbol stratosphere is going to be featured at the Smithsonian.
Fittingly, the red swimsuit that helped make Charlie’s Angels actress Farrah Fawcett an icon is going to the Smithsonian in Washington. Ryan O’Neal donated the swimwear, as well as Fawcett’s copies of scripts for the first season of Charlie’s Angels and a Farrah Fawcett doll.
The famed 1976 poster of Fawcett in the swimsuit sold millions of copies. By the way, it was a one-piece… a true indicator of the time. Don’t you miss the days when you could actually cover yourself and still be considered sexy?
