Ad Nauseum: House Front Serves As Advertising Space.

On one hand, it’s good that a homeowner in desperate need of a lifeline can find one. On the other hand, this is what they’ve been reduced to.

The Daily What found this example:

“An ad firm is stepping in to help struggling homeowners meets their monthly mortgage payments by offering to pony up cash in exchange for ad space on the side of their house. “I knew the economy was tough,” Adzookie CEO Romeo Mendoza told CNN, “but it’s sad to see how many homeowners are really struggling.”

On the company’s site, they explain that they’ll spend 3-5 days painting the entire outside of the house, minus the roof, the windows and any awnings. It remains that way for three months but can be renewed for up to a year. Then they paint the house back to the original colors.

During this period, they pay the owner’s mortgage.
