New York Magazine’s VULTURE column was doing a fairly standard celebrity interview with Alec Baldwin before a fundraising event when at the last minute, Baldwin dropped a bombshell.
When asked if he would write a book (as Tina Fey has recently,) he said:
“I will tell you one thing,” he said. “And that is our show next year is our last year of the show… Our contracts are expired [in 2012], and Tina is gonna have a big career directing films and writing. She’s going to be the next Elaine May. She’ll be great.”
Baldwin had made news about his plan to depart the show himself next year, but this is the first that news of the show winding down entirely has come up.
