Film Critic Roger Ebert Starts War of Words With Ryan Dunn Fans.
Was “Jackass” star Ryan Dunn drinking and driving the night he died in an auto crash? Film critic Rogert Ebert says yes, and has chided the deceased celebrity online. Then, Ebert’s facebook page was been pulled down (and subsequently put back up) and Dunn fans are taking aim at the movie critic.
After Ryan Dunn was killed on Monday, Ebert that his death was likely the result of drunk driving, saying, “Friends don’t let jackasses drink and drive.” Dunn had posted a photo of himself drinking just hours before the crash, but some reports claim that this pic was actually from the evening prior to the crash.
Dunn fans were incensed at Ebert’s remarks. Their tweets back said so. But Ebert stood his ground.
“He drank, he drove, 2 people died,” tweeted Ebert.
The drama also has unfolded on Facebook, where Rogert Ebert’s page was suddenly taken down. Ebert posted a screengrab of the warning he received:
He then tweeted: :”Facebook has removed my page in response, apparently, to malicious complaints from one or two jerks.”
Now it seems the page is back up, but the outrage is yet to die down.
Dunn was killed in a car crash in Pennsylvania when he drove his 2007 Porsche 911 GT3 into a tree. Dunn was driving with a passenger who also died in the crash.
