Can Russell Brand Get Half of Katy Perry’s Earnings?

Katy Perry and Russell Brand may be breaking up, but does that mean a huge payday for Brand?

According to the Huffington Post, the couple has no prenup, due to the fact that they wanted to keep their marriage “normal”.

Court documents (via TMZ) remain vague about how Brand and Perry’s property is to be divided, but because California is a community property state, Brand may be entitled to half the couple’s assets acquired.

But it doesn’t stop there…according to Forbes, Perry’s net worth is $44 million, while Brand’s is only between $6.6 and $15 million.  With a California marriage license, Brand would be entitled to half of what Perry made from work while they were married…

Suddenly, $22 Million doesn’t sound so bad…
