A few months ago, it was reported that Elton John was developing a biopic of his life that he would call ROCKETMAN.  And now, we’re hearing that John knows exactly who he’d want to play him: Justin Timberlake.

According to WorstPreviews, in a new interview with the LA Times, the singer said,

“I’ve got a wish list of people. No. 1 on my wish list is Justin Timberlake, because he played me before in a David LaChapelle video of ‘Rocket Man’ and was superb.”

John says that the film, which was written by “Billy Elliot” scribe, Lee Hall (Billy Elliot), will be a “surreal” look at his life in the vein of MOULIN ROUGE instead of just a straightforward factual account.

John also said that the movie will feature songs from his career, as well as a few new ones, and a director has already been signed.

As for Justin, a source for E! Online is reporting that  “Justin is taking it very seriously…He’s working with his people to figure out exactly how to respond.”

While we wait, check out David LaChapelle’s music video below, and let us know what you think of JT as the Rocketman.
