Fans of "Downton Abbey", get ready: another one of your favorite characters will be gone soon.

Fans of “Downton Abbey”, get ready: another one of your favorite characters will be gone soon.

According to a new interview with the Orlando Sentinal, the show’s executive producer, Rebecca Eaton, has revealed that while there will be a celebration of life, there will also be death:  “Somebody will be born, and somebody will die, somebody pretty key in the cast, unfortunately not going to make it. It’s the 1920s now,”

Death is not a big surprise for viewers of the PBS show.  Main characters Kemal Pamuk and William Mason were killed off in seasons one and two, respectively.

But Eaton did not stop there.  She also said that fans should expect a wedding, revealing that “Matthew and Mary do get married.”

“Downton Abbey” returns for season 3 in the U.S. January 2013.
