Charlie Sheen Is Back, Shattering Cable Records With “Anger Management”

Yes, Charlie Sheen is still winning.

Yes, Charlie Sheen is still winning.

This past Thursday night, Sheen’s new show, “Anger Management”, premiered on FX, and shattered records to become the most-watched scripted comedy in cable history among both adults 18-49 and total viewers.

The series averaged 5.47 million viewers, 2.65 million of which were in the key demographic. A second episode at 9:30pm actually improved, posting 5.74 million total viewers and 2.89 million in the demo.

So what does that mean for Sheen’s post-“Two and a Half Men” show?  Well, if upcoming episodes meet an undisclosed ratings threshold, the series will automatically earn an additional 90-episode order.  (For those of you who can’t do the math, that rounds up to almost four seasons!)

FX has already sold out of ad-space for the first four episodes.

And don’t you dare complain about that “winning” joke.  You knew it was coming…
