Joe Simpson Charged With DUI

Joe Simpson may just be heading to jail!

TMZ is reporting that Mr. Simpson, the father of pop superstar Jessica Simpson, has been charged with 2 counts of DUI in relation to his August 4th arrest.

As POP reported last week, Simpson was pulled over on Ventura Blvd in Sherman Oaks around 10PM.  After sensing that he was intoxicated, police arrested the 54-year-old, and put him behind bars for the rest of the night.

The L.A. City Attorney has filed 2 misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence against Joe.  If convicted on both counts, he could face up to 36 months probation and a $1,000 fine, with a maximum sentence of six months of prison!

As a first-time offender, TMZ speculates that he’ll probably end up with a fine and probation.
