Cult Classic Icons Take On Tennessee Williams’ Dark Side!

John Waters is getting behind “The Mutilated” – helping Mink Stole, (one of his movie muses) and performance artist Penny Arcade with a kickstarter campaign to bring a dark Tennessee Williams play to the stage.

While most fans may be used to seeing Stole in more campy performances on the silver screen, she explains in the video that her evolution as a performer has her exciting to be taking on this meaty, dark role. (It’s also kind of fun to see Mink just being Mink here!)

Here’s the plot!

Once a society woman, Trinket Dugan — played by Mink Stole — has hidden herself away at the Silver Dollar Hotel in the French Quarter and lives there with a painful secret.

Vagrant, shoplifter, and over-the-hill (though always hopeful) prostitute, Celeste — played by Penny Arcade — is Trinket’s only real friend and the only person who knows her secret.
