Well it looks like Sara Haines is taking a little time to enjoy a different view this fall as she announced her departure from The View earlier today. The former journalist joined the panel of the hit talk show in its twentieth season back in 2016. Like many cohosts before her, The View served as an excellent launching pad for Haines who will now be one of two hosts of GMA DAY. She shared the bittersweet news with the ladies, who had no problem poking a little fun at just how excited Haines is to be leaving the show.

Earlier this year ABC announced the cancellation of the popular cooking/talk show, The Chew, to make room for a third hour of Good Morning America. After months of speculation, Haines confirmed today that she and GMA vet, Michael Strahan will be cohosting the third hour entitled GMA DAY. No stranger to talk shows, Strahan has had a successful run on morning tv after first cohosting Live! With Kelly And Michael back in 2012. After a four year run Strahan left Live! to join the morning panel over at GMA. The transition to the new hour only makes sense seeing as Strahan proved very popular during his last tenure sitting next to a cheery blonde.
The first season of GMA DAY premiers on September 10th at 1p EST on ABC. No details on what to expect from the extra hour but Strahan did tease that more info is expected to drop this month. Both new hosts took to Twitter to share in the excitement of the big news.
Tell your friends, tell your family, tell the whole town, shout it from the rooftops! Starting September 10th @sarahaines and I will be hosting the 3rd hour of @GMA! #gmaday #gma pic.twitter.com/ayrRQEMXqQ
