Charlie Sheen has gone on another rant – and now Two And A Half Men is shut down for the rest of the season.
In a LA radio interview on the Alex Jones Show, Sheen insisted he can beat his addictions with his mind, even calling members of Alcoholics Anonymous “Sissies.”
But what may have been the final straw were his jabs at the show’s creator.
The hard partying star called his sitcom boss Chuck Lorre a “clown,” “turd” – and a “contaminated little maggot.” And he inexplicably harped on Lorre’s Jewish birth name – “Chaim Levine.”
His acid tongue went on.. (Via E!)
“Last I checked, Chaim, I’ve spent close to the last decade effortlessly and magically converting your tin cans into pure gold, and the gratitude I get is this charlatan chose not to do his job, which is to write. Clearly someone who believes he’s above the law.”
Reps for CBS and the show had a more brief, but no less pointed response:
“Based on the totality of Charlie Sheen’s statements, conduct and condition, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have decided to discontinue production of Two and a Half Men for the remainder of the season.”
As recent episodes of the show have aired, Lorre has had his share of fun at Sheen’s expense along the way, by writing comments on the vanity cards that appear at the end of the show just after the credits… a recent one included: “If Charlie Sheen outlives me, I’m going to be really pissed”
A funny remark, but ultimately, the whole thing is more sad than anything else. Sad for the people that are suddenly out of work, sad for the talented guy who can’t get his life together, and sad that it has all come to this.
So much is being thrown away. Is Sheen a safe investment as an actor anymore? Is this multimillion dollar showbiz salary his last? Only time will tell.
