The U.K. version of the trailer for the upcoming film The Iron Lady has come out – and it confirms everyone’s belief that Meryl Streep is going hit the role of Margaret Thatcher out of the park. There’s also a surprising song playing through much of the preview.

At the very least, an Oscar nomination, for sure.

The movie posters are now posted throughout parts of Great Britain as well. The film opens in the U.S. on December 30th, and on January 6th in Britain.

At the very least, you can appreciate the resemblance to the real Maggie, onetime Prime Minister of Great Britain.

After 2002 the real Thatcher had a number of strokes, and was reportedly advised by her doctors not to make any more public appearances. Even so, she refused – going out in public until 2008, when she collapsed at public function. She was invited to Prince William’s royal wedding, but did not attend due to poor health.

The trailer for the film is below.
