Demi Lovato, who struggled with an eating disorder during her thriving TV career, is ticked off with an eating disorder joke on a Disney Channel show, so she ranted on twitter. Now Disney is reacting.

The former “Sonny With a Chance” star was watching The Disney Channel’s current series “Shake It Up!” when she heard a joke that left a bad taste in her mouth.Apparently an actress on the show said the line: “‘I could just eat you up, well if I ate.’

Lovato, who at one time was a big TV star on the network, tweeted:  “I find it really funny how a company can lose one of their actress’ from the pressures of an EATING DISORDER and yet still make joke about … that very disease.”

Moments later, the Disney Channel (via their media relations department) tweeted: “We hear you & are pulling both episodes as quickly as possible & reevaluating them … It’s NEVER our intention to make light of eating disorders!”

Lovato also tweeted that she has nothing against very thin girls, but longs for the day when Disney had more fuller figured characters on their air, citing Raven Symone as an example.
