As we’ve been reporting, Justin Timberlake attended the Marine Corps Ball this weekend with Corporal Kelsey De Santis, all thanks to her now famous YouTube video invitation.  Well now, one very brave graduate student is taking the trend to a whole new level.

Lindsey Miller is a 26-year-old graduate student living in Los Angeles, who was diagnosed with pancreatic neuroendocrine cancer in October 2010.  Since the diagnosis, she’s been keeping an anonymous blog, i am a liver. On Monday, she decided to go public, posting a video to YouTube, asking 50/50 actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt out for coffee.

The invitation is actually really sweet.  Lindsay isn’t going crazy, asking for anything serious, but says,

“Even though I look healthy, dating has been a little difficult because I’m not sure how to explain what I’ve been going through…but, after a year of living with this I’ve decided to get back on the dating scene and I’d like my first date to be with you.”

Check out the video below, and let us know what you think.  We’ll let you know if and when Gordon-Levitt responds.
