At the auditions for American Idol in San Diego, the judges panel got a dose of star power, family style. Jane Carrey, daughter of actor Jim Carrey turned out to audition, singing Bonnie Raitt’s “Something to Talk About.”

Dad Jim wasn’t at the audition himself, about Jane followed up the visit with a call to her father.

The audition was a reality check for Jennifer Lopez, who remembered Jane back when Lopez worked as a dancer on In Living Color, and Jim was a castmember.

“I worked with Jim [on In Living Color]! … I remember you when you were little! Do you remember me? I was one of the Fly Girls! … You were so little! You were a baby! Oh my God! When did this happen?!”

Jane was just two years old or so when Jennifer was on the Fox series with her dad,  and now, at 24, she is already a mom. Where does the time go, indeed?
