You know whats better than one, big belting queen? Two big belting queens. That’s why the collaboration between Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato is long overdue!
The former Disney kids have partnered up to create a new song that some are calling an anthem for young girls. The power ballad features some strong messages empowering women to value themselves and embrace growing older. Concerns that the two, strong voices would be embattled are quickly squashed when you hear how perfectly they are matched. The key change around the 3 minute mark made me hit a high note myself.
The pairing of the two pop stars makes perfect sense, especially when you consider the admiration Lovato has shown for Aguilera in the past. To Billboard she revealed:
“I have always looked up to Christina. I remember being at her concert and singing facing the crowd instead of the stage, knowing that that was exactly what I wanted to do in life. She speaks up for what she believes in and sends a positive message, which are two things I find extremely important when given the platform we are lucky enough to have.”
Both Aguilera and Lovato excitedly shared the same tweet yesterday, showing off some childhood pictures, along with some of the lyrics from the song. Have we discovered Hollywood’s next BFF duo?!?
“Fall In Line” is featured on Aguilera’s latest album, Liberation. And if you love the jam, you can see the pop pair perform it live at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards on Sunday, May 20th at 8pm. Give the song a listen below, and try not to belt along while sheepishly listening from your cubicle….
